You can only create an account with LDS Singles by using either of the two ways: using your Facebook account or setting it up through your email. Using either method will still require you to fill out a personality questionnaire.

Registering using your Facebook account is a bit faster as LDS Singles takes the available information on your profile. On the other hand, if you use your email to create an account, you will need to manually input information such as your birthday and location. 

Your method choice also determines your login method. If you create the account through Facebook, you can log in using the "Login with Facebook" button. You only need to do this the first time as you can set up a username and password after you log in to your account.

Photo Verification

Make sure that before you register, you already have the profile picture you want to use on your device. Immediately after entering details about your name, location, and birthday, LDS Singles will ask you to upload at least one picture of yourself which will become your main photo in the site. 

You can upload up to six pictures during this step. Once your photos are uploaded, you’ll see “Pending Approval” notice on each image. To ensure the quality of profiles, LDS Singles screen all photos for inappropriate content. 

Allow 24 to 48 hours for approval.  Once approved, the photo becomes visible on your profile. If your photo does not meet LDS Single's policies, you'll see "Rejected" on the image.  You’ll also get an email notification for each photo that has been rejected.

The site also checks your contact information and location for verification purposes. There are certain countries, especially in Asia, that LDS Singles refuse accepting members at the moment, but people from most of the Western countries will not have a problem creating an account. 

You'll know your country is one of those forbidden locations when you encounter an "Error Code 15: Access Denied" message during registration.

People who appear on your "Matches" list are those who live within your city. You can customise your matches' distance from you by 5 to 500 miles of the current city you are in. This means that you can only contact people who live in the same city as you. 

If you happen to move to a different city, you can change your location anytime. Despite your ability to change the indicated location inside your profile, the site tracks your actual location through your device's GPS so you may still get matches from around these areas.

To make better matches, LDS Singles lets you describe the type of people you are looking for. Under the "Discovery Preferences," you can select whether you want a long-term relationship, marriage, marriage, and kids, or a friend. 

To get in touch with a member, you can simply click the message icon under their main photos to send a message. You need to have a premium subscription to this, however.

Online Dating Safety

The first time you enter your "Messages" page, an "Important Notice" dialog box will appear. It contains information about online dating safety. It makes you promise to never send money, ask others for money, or share financial information with anyone you meet on LDS Singles.

You need to click the "I accept" button at the bottom of the message to continue. Clicking also serves as an acknowledgment that you understand and will follow the rules as you use the site. 

LDS Singles is big on dating safety. At the bottom of the box, you will get a hyperlink to a page they made within the site about online safety tips. 

"LookBook" Feature

Using the LookBook feature, you can browse profiles one at a time, anonymously. From the LookBook page, you’ll see the member’s main photo, display name, age, location, and biography.

You’ll have the option to make a selection on each profile. Clicking the heart icon indicates a like, while clicking on the X icon indicates that you'll pass on the profile.  

If you pass on a member in LookBook, they will not be notified.  You will get a "Mutual Like" notification for every mutual likes you get.

Just by looking at profiles, it is easy to spot whether or not you have a chance of clicking with someone in the LDS dating arena. 

Every profile page does not offer overwhelming information but gives enough details for you to understand someone's personality before you talk to them. It gives you space where you can talk about your self in your own words, and a separate section to describe your appearance. 

Aside from the user-friendly ways of customising your profile, there are not many restrictions in viewing another member's profile. However, you need to be a premium member if you want to view the photo albums of other users.

Information about Church Activities

A special section where members can declare their frequency of church attendance is provided. 

Remember to be truthful in these fields as you will get your matches based on the information you provide the site. Lying may lead to a mismatch which can be a frustrating experience for you as well as your mismatch. 

One of the key Christian values is being family-oriented so everyone is required to disclose whether they have children or not and if they are single or divorced.

Strict Photo Requirement

LDSSingles implements a strict photo requirement for all members to ensure quality. Your main photo should always be a headshot of yourself. You cannot upload a group picture as your main photo. The site will only reject it once detected.

Photo quality should be at least 375 pixels in width and length. Your account will also risk suspension if you upload a suggestive, offensive, or copyrighted pictures. 

LDSSingles' premium subscription offers full-site feature access for a monthly fee. It may be worth giving a try because of its no-frill and transparent premium service.

Multi-month subscriptions are collected in one lump sum and not in monthly installments. To ensure uninterrupted service, your subscription will renew for the same duration unless the renewal feature is turned off before the renewal date. 

Automatic renewal is turned on with each subscription purchase.  If you purchased your subscription through the website or Android app, you can turn off the automatic renewal feature at any time before the renewal date. 

When you purchase through iTunes, LDSSingles doesn't have the authority to manage your subscription, stop the renewal, or issue a refund. You can manage these items through your iTunes account. You will continue to have access to the paid features of the site through the remainder of your subscription time.

When making a purchase, you may notice a USD1 pre-authorisation on your credit card, which will be removed within 24 hours. You will not be charged for the USD1 on top of your subscription purchase.
