Signing up to CatholicMatch can be done via your email address or Facebook account. Although not plenty, answering all the fields presented in the registration process is mandatory. Only one question is shown per page, so signing up can take quite a while.

It's quite a little evident that many of the questions are about your faith, beliefs, and religious practices. Apart from these questions, you will also be required to upload a primary photo. The photo in question can be uploaded straight from your computer or lifted your Facebook account.

Unlike most dating sites where you have the freedom to create one, CatholicMatch will assign you your username. Your automatic username is "YourName-MembershipNumber." For example, if you're name's Anna and you are the two millionth member to register, you'll be Anna-2000000.

Standard members may have had it easy when it came to signing up and profile customization, but not so much with contacting other members. You can't send messages to other members unless you upgrade to a premium subscription first.

If you're a free member, you can send them Emotigrams, but you can't add a personalized note to make your interaction even more memorable.

In terms of receiving messages, you can receive one, no problem, but the catch is the length of time you'll be able to read its contents. Only after ten days will you be able to read your received message. This seems counterproductive, not unless you're the lucky one who got contacted by an ever-patient CatholicMatch member.

Members can set up 20 multiple-choice questions that don't usually come to mind when engaging in small talk. You can answer these on their profiles so they can get to know you better.

Since a substantial amount of a CatholicMatch profile's data will be answered in the registration process, the majority of the profiles we've come across are filled.

By skimming through a member's information, you can find a lot of topics that'll make excellent conversation starters or common ground. Profile details include a myriad of topics ranging from a member's favourite movies to favourite saints and even their religious activities. Profiles show basic information such as name, age, location, educational status, lifestyle, dating preferences, and even physical attributes. 

Profiles with photos are more likely to be visited, and CatholicMatch made sure you can freely express who you are in images. You can upload up to 50 pictures, and when you do, these show up on the bottom of everyone's main page.

Apart from these details, CatholicMatch will also publish the results of your temperament quiz if you agree. To view your temperament results, you have to take a quiz first. You're required to create an accompanying account at temperamentquiz.com before taking the said quiz.

Since joining CatholicMatch is fairly quick and easy, encountering fake profiles is a possibility. Be sure to be always wary of profiles you are talking with to avoid being scammed.
