Although messages are free in Dil Mil, users can only send and receive messages with their matches. Once matched, users can have unlimited communications and can even send photos. Dil Mil offers a limited number of likes, the app only gives 10 a day and refreshes every 24 hours. 

User can set their filter criteria depending on their dating preferences. Premium users can send personalized requests and can rewind their feeds if they accidentally skipped on someone they like.  Users can change their locations to have matches from different places.

Profiles in Dil Mil are simple and straightforward. Profiles include one profile picture, age, and location. Fake profiles are a rare sight because the app has heightened security systems and approves all profile pictures before they go live. Profiles are verified via mobile numbers. Users can report and block profiles that they don't want to see or continue communicating with.

Profiles can be edited from time to time. Users can add information on their personal profiles, as well as change previously added dating preferences.

Dil Mil is free to download in Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app has a lively and engaging vibe that makes users feel comfortable while using it. Feature tabs are clear and easy to use, even users who are not tech-savvy can use them intuitively. Dil Mil can be used simultaneously with other applications without causing technical errors to mobile devices. However, the app can be a little surprising at times because it gives users random matches with profiles they have never even swiped on. This might be an occasional glitch in the system, but surely the app engineers are onto it.

Almost all profiles I have encountered have Asian roots. During registration, I had to google the meaning of the choices listed under their ethnicity and community questions. These are fun things to answer because it celebrates the Southern Asian's identity. But for non-Southern Asians like me, this is a new experience. It teaches me more about the culture of this specific group of people. The registration went smoothly without problems. The hardest part, however, is getting a match. It is hard to pinpoint how the app chooses your next partner. Do they base it on the religion I input? How sure is the app that these religions are compatible? Despite not getting a connection for a few days, there are a lot of beautiful people that you can meet inside the app. So I used a paid feature I got by signing up to their trial premium. I sent a note to a person recommended to me by the app. She is a 25-year-old Chemist. That is also one of the things that I noticed in this app. Most people are either working in the medical or the technology field. Anyway, the Chemist lady sounds like a decent and polite person based on our exchanges. I hope to meet more people like her. But after the trial period ended, I am not sure when I will get a new contact connection again.

Design and Usability

The design is clear and the icons are easy to understand. Not much text is needed because it easily translates without much reading. The functionality is easy and intuitive, but it has to be more accessible. The charging time is short and refreshes instantly. Swiping to either like or dislike is smooth. There are no delays or glitches. The people search preferences is also easy to use. Choosing your preferences only takes a few taps or scrolling of a bar to readjust. It also comes in a calm shade of orange which is not too powerful but just right for the eyes.
